UW’s Wroten too much for ASU

TEMPE — The Lowdown: Washington freshman Tony
Wroten
scored a game-high 22 points, including a huge three-point
play with
1:06 remaining, lifting the Huskies to a 60-54 win over
the Arizona State
Sun Devils before a crowd of 6,794 at Wells Fargo Arena.
The Sun Devils made a push to get to within 4 points after
a Chris Colvin
layup, but Wroten answered, driving through the middle of
the ASU zone
defense for a tomahawk dunk with 5:35 left.
Then with 1:06 left, Wroten grabbed an offensive rebound
off the floor,
scored a layup and completed another three-point play that
took the last
breeze of wind out of ASU’s sails.
What went wrong for ASU: After leading 24-22
at halftime,
Washington came out and began the second half on an 17-3
run to take
an 12-point lead. It was an uphill battle the rest of the
way for the
Devils.
