It only took six games, or 80 minutes and 9 seconds, but the Arizona Cardinals finally scored their first first-quarter points of the season.

David Johnson just needed to make a big play.

The Arizona running back swept left and used a few jukes, plus a couple of handy blocks from his offensive line and receiver Larry Fitzgerald, to spring loose down the left sideline for a 58-yard touchdown run with 9:51 left in the first quarter.

The Cardinals went ahead 7-0 on the play and with it became the final NFL team this season to notch points in the first quarter of a game.

Notably, the offensive line opening the lanes for Johnson, even on an outside run, was a promising thing for a team missing starting guards Mike Iupati and Evan Mathis. Guard Earl Watford’s final block well down the field — just in case the Jets could have caught Johnson — was an impressive sight as well.

Johnson closed the 28-3 Cardinals win with 111 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries to go with three catches for 27 receiving yards.
