Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu will officially make his return to the field Sunday at Metlife Stadium.
Mathieu, a former third-round pick, had his rookie season cut short after tearing both his ACL and MCL in a Dec. 8, 2013 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
In 2013, Mathieu recorded 68 total tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one sack.
While the ‘Honey Badger’ will be suiting up for Arizona in the Big Apple Sunday, a few notable names will not: quarterback Carson Palmer (shoulder) and Dave Zastudil (groin).
Palmer last missed a start as a member of the Oakland Raiders in Week 17 of the 2012 season due to a rib injury. Drew Stanton, who hasn’t thrown a pass in 1,355 days, will get the start in his absence.
Joining Palmer and Zastudil on the inactive list Sunday are the following:
LB Alex Okafor (thigh)
TE Darren Fells (healthy scratch)
DE Frostee Rucker (calf)
LB Glenn Carson (healthy scratch)
LB Marcus Bernard (healthy scratch)
