Sure, you could read the box score and know who won, but we all know that won’t tell you everything that happened in a football game. So, we give you ‘Cat Tracks’, providing you with the analysis, quotes and notes from Arizona’s October 27 win against USC. Final score: Arizona 39, USC 36.

The Good:

Arizona quarterback Matt Scott threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for a score to compile 469 yards of total offense in the win.

Wideout Austin Hill had 10 catches for 259 yards to complete a monster effort against the Trojans.

The Bad:

The Cats committed a few crucial penalties that did prove costly. Fabbians Ebbele was called for holding in the first quarter which reversed a 1-yard touchdown run by Ka’Deem Carey. Arizona ended up settling for a field goal after the penalty.

Michael Cooper also committed a holding penalty, erasing a field goal and pushing the Wildcats back 10 yards. Arizona’s next field goal attempt was wide.

The Wildcats also received bad news when Scott couldn’t play in the team’s final possession due to injury. His status is not yet known.

Noted:

Arizona was able to avenge last season’s heartbreaking loss to USC. The two teams combined for 1,100 yards but the Trojans were able to hold off the Cats second half surge to claim a 48-41 win.

Coming Up Next:

The Wildcats will be on the road against UCLA on Saturday, November 3 at 7:30 p.m.
