Stunned. Silence.

That’s how ESPN’s Rece Davis described the scene in Eugene, Ore. Thursday night as he signed off the telecast.

The Arizona Wildcats had just defeated the No. 2 Oregon Ducks 31-24.

It would be the second year in a row the Cats were able to do such a thing.

Here’s a look at the game by the numbers:

2

Number of fumbles forced and recovered by the Arizona defense, including one by Scooby Wright III on Marcus Mariota late in the fourth quarter. The Ducks never got the ball back.

4

The Wildcats never trailed by more than four points despite being 24-point underdogs coming into the game.

5-0

The Wildcats are 5-0 to open the season for the first time since 1998.

7

The Wildcats have beaten seven Top 10 teams in the last 10 years. Three of those have come against Top 5 Oregon teams.

7.1

Average yards per carry for Arizona running back Nick Wilson, who also scored two touchdowns.

24.8

Average kick return yardage by Wildcat Tyrell Johnson on his four returns. Good field position helped Arizona drive down the field throughout the game.

24 & 446

Number of points and total yards of offense by the Ducks, the fewest of the season in both categories.

45

There were 45 points scored in the second half. Only 10 points were put on the board in the first half.

100

For the 27th-consecutive game the Wildcats rushed for more than 100 yards in a game. The only time they haven’t topped 100 yards in the Rich Rodriguez era was their last visit to Eugene on Sept. 22, 2012.
