The Pac-12 has six teams in AP’s college football top 25 poll, including Arizona State at No. 15 and Arizona at No. 22.
The conference only trails the SEC (8) in terms of teams in the top 25. Four of the six Pac-12 teams are in the south division.
In terms of teams on the schedule, Arizona State will play home against No.8 USC and at No. 13 UCLA back-to-back on Sept. 26 and Oct. 3. They will also play home against No. 7 Oregon on Oct. 29 and No. 22 Arizona on Nov. 21.
As for the Wildcats, they do not play Oregon, but still have the same amount of top 25 opponents with a road game against No. 21 Stanford Oct. 3.
This is the first time Arizona is ranked in the preseason since 1999 and is also only the fifth time both Arizona and Arizona State are ranked in the preseason.
Ohio State is the first unanimous selection for the No. 1 position in the poll. They received all 61 first-place votes.
