During his first week on the job, Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians hasn't been afraid to pluck coaches from the college ranks.

Earlier Tuesday, Arians reportedly offered Austin Peay head coach Rick Christophel the team's open tight end coaching job.

But apparently, he wasn't done.

According to CoachingSearch.com, Arians has hired Alabama offensive quality control coach Kevin Garver as the Cardinals' new offensive quality control.

Garver has worked under Nick Saban for the past six seasons, including three years in which the Crimson Tide won the BCS National Championship.

During his time in Tuscaloosa, Garver worked as a student assistant, graduate assistant and as an offensive analyst for the Crimson Tide.

    Offensive quality control coach. Assistant head coach/offense. An OC with an offensive line background. Multiple offensive line coaches. Arians may have a background in offense, but it's obvious that he realizes that there needs to be plenty of other offensive minds around as well. So far it seems like a very good thing.

    you look at it Whiz and Graves are going to be made to look very, very bad. Either the players have a lot of untapped potential that the new coaches are going to bring out showing that the previous coaches did not know squat. OR, the players are going to be made to look like the bums I think they are and the previous regime is going to be made to look stupid for assembling them.

    That is a great perspective. I think Whiz was solid & put the organization out there. I feel his tenure was done due to the lack of effort it seemed on offense. The D is solid but they were always on the field. I think we need someone that'll make EVERYONE accountable which Arians will. I believe he comes with a lot of praise, a lot of experience, & will assemble a solid foundation. I look forward to seeing what he does for us.

    all it takes is changing a coaching staff for a team to take off. Under Mike Singletary, the 49ers couldn't make the playoffs. Bring in Harbaugh and a new coaching staff and they win the division the first year and make it to the SB the second. Let's hope this is the case with Arizona.

    Coach Arian's effort in putting together a "COACHING STAFF" that is so diverse that would also include College Coach's. To snag Coach Garver from the "TIDE", (I would think) was a feather in his cap. Working with Coach Saban for 6 seasons will be a huge plus for credibility. Our coachIing staff seems to coming along just fine. I can't wait to see what this staff is going to come up with for the NFL draft. GO COACHES!!!!

    I like the coaches and assistants so far, I think the play calling calling and QB will definitely be better coached and called. I look forward to seeing the Super Bowl soon as the poor officiating cheated us of a win, now we can return and get the ring.

    It's his staff. Of course Horton is yelling that he coulda (shoulda, woulda) gotten Turner, but Arians is putting together quite a group. Keim said in his presser that the hiring of Arians was "the beginning of something special." I think we're all starting to see what he meant by that. Go coach Arians!

    I think coach Whiz was not a very good play caller. That was the problem. Big Ben had issues with Whiz in Pittsburgh, and here in Arizona, I felt he was too conservative. I think the Cardinals are going to be the most improved offensive team in the league next season. Getting stud o-line help like Fisher or Warford, and a tough physical running back like Eddie Lacy would make an immediate impact and keep whoever is playing quarterback healthy.
