The Pacific Coast League has suspended six players on the Reno Aces for their involvement in Saturday’s bench-clearing brawl with the Albuquerque Isotopes.
Topping the list of suspensions were pitchers Andrew Chafin (7 games) and Kameron Loe (4 games). Pitcher Will Harris and position players Mike Jacobs, Blake Lalli and Aaron Cunningham were all suspended for three games respectively. Each player involved was also fined an undisclosed amount.
Chafin and Lalli started serving their suspensions Monday against Isotopes while the dates for Loe, Harris, Jacobs and Cunningham to serve their punishment have yet to be determined.
Carlos Frias (7 games), Jose Dominguez (4 games), Pedro Baez (4 games), Yimi Garcia (3 games) and Walter Ibarra (3 games) were all suspended for the Isotopes but haven’t begun to serve out their penance. Erisbel Arruebarrena, who shoved Lalli to instigate the melee, has been optioned to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
