Junior Onyeali suspended for ASU bowl game

Dec 19, 2011, 11:03 PM | Updated: 11:06 pm

The Arizona State Sun Devils will be without the services of
sophomore defensive end Junior Onyeali for the MAACO Bowl
Las Vegas against 6th-ranked Boise State on Thursday night.

Onyeali has been suspended for the game by head coach Dennis
Erickson after a shouting match between the two at Monday’s
practice before the Sun Devils departed for Las Vegas.

Onyeali played in only eight games this season because of a
knee injury suffered in a loss to Illinois. He had only 11
total tackles this season, and his sack total fell to just
one after registering 6 in 2010 when he was the Pac-10
Defensive Freshman of the Year.
