‘Well, this is awkward’ – hardware intended for UA ends up in ASU hands

The Territorial Cup currently belongs to ASU — and now, thanks to a shipping error, so does another piece of hardware UA would like to have.
The American Football Coaches Association — which, like many national organizations, appears to not understand the difference between Arizona and Arizona State — sent a plaque intended for all-time UA leading rusher Ka’Deem Carey to Tempe instead of Tucson.
ASU media relations specialist Maggie Emmons reported the mistake Monday.
We will accept this award on behalf of @azathletics as it was sent to our office. #SorryKaDeem pic.twitter.com/skqnbMXJWE

The response from the good folks in the Old Pueblo was swift and equally as entertaining.
@MaggieEmmons Well, this is awkward.

It appears ASU will be kind enough to hand over the award to its rivals to the south — though Emmons made it clear the Sun Devils don’t intend on being overly generous.
This will be the only thing we return to Tucson on Nov. 28 #KeepTheCup 🙂 RT @AZATHLETICS: @MaggieEmmons Well, this is awkward.

Shots fired. The 2014 Duel in the Desert can’t get here soon enough.
