Fitz-watch just might be coming to an end.

Visiting the NFL Network crew Sunday before Super Bowl LII, Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald put a timeline on when he’ll make a decision about whether he will return for his 15th NFL season or retire.

“I’m contemplating. Yes, absolutely,” Fitzgerald said when asked by host Rich Eisen if he’s willing to play under defensive-minded coach Steve Wilks, who replaces the retired Bruce Arians.

“I’m excited about what the future holds. Obviously, there’s things that need to still happen in terms of personnel, draft and things like that to help our team improve, but I’m confident (general manager) Steve Keim and his group will do a good job with that.”

Fitzgerald indicated he’s not disappointed with where the Cardinals are from a roster standpoint despite not having a starting quarterback and entering a new era under a new coaching staff. He said Arizona is “in the same position with everybody around the league, teams that are jockeying position.”

Eisen asked if Fitzgerald would be comfortable returning to play if the Cardinals were faced with starting a rookie quarterback.

“I haven’t made any definitive decisions,” Fitzgerald said. “I’ll be ready in about a week or two.”

Fitzgerald told the NFL Network crew he was set to visit Seoul, South Korea, for the Winter Olympics, which begin on Feb. 7. He will also visit Norway and Iceland in the upcoming weeks, he said.

Fitzgerald is coming off another productive season played. At the age of 34, he caught 109 passes (second in the NFL) for 1,156 yards (eight in the NFL) in 2017 despite the Cardinals playing three different quarterbacks over the course of the season.
