These types of scenes never get old.
Prior to Thursday’s game between the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, nine-year-old Alayna Adams was given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch. But before she stepped to the mound at Tropicana Field in Florida, she watched a big screen video from her father, Lt. Col. Will Adams, who she thought was still in Afghanistan.
She was wrong.
Her dad was behind home plate, dressed in catcher’s gear waiting to receive the ball. Adams caught the pitch, took off his mask, and the rest was simply wonderful.
