South Dakota State to honor Jack Hoffman

Sep 20, 2013, 11:39 PM | Updated: 11:39 pm

One of the best sport moments of the last year came when the Nebraska football team let 7-year-old Jack Hoffman, who’s battling brain cancer, run for a 69-yard touchdown during their Spring Game.

According to Stu Whitney, the sports editor of the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, Hoffman’s parents are graduates of South Dakota State. The school is traveling to Nebraska to face the Huskers on Saturday and the coaches are going to wear hats in support of Hoffman and the Team Jack Foundation. The youngster will also be part of the coin flip before the game.

Hoffman’s touchdown run went viral last year and earned him an ESPY for “Best Moment.” More information about the Team Jack Foundation can be found online.
