A milestone year for the Arizona Diamondbacks is off to a strong start. Winners in three of four games, the team is on the rise in the MLB.com power rankings.

Coming into the season, Alyson Footer of MLB.com placed the Diamondbacks at No. 10 of her preseason rankings. Following Opening Week, Arizona has moved up one spot to No. 9.

The Diamondbacks, celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2018, have already made some memorable moments that have elevated them into the top 10.

Arizona earned a series win over Colorado to begin the year, including an 8-2 victory on Opening Day. The Diamondbacks held Colorado below three runs in two of the three games played.

They followed that up with a ninth-inning comeback against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday, hitting a three-run home run off of closer Kenley Jansen in the ninth before Jeff Mathis hit a walk-off single in the 15th inning.

Sitting at 3-1, Arizona holds an early division lead, but the NL West remains one of the toughest divisions in baseball. Footer has the Diamondbacks as well as the Dodgers (No. 2) and Rockies (No.15) in the top 15 of her power rankings with the San Francisco Giants just outside at No. 17.
