Ziegler looking forward to postseason run

PHOENIX – Since being acquired by the Arizona Diamondbacks at the trade deadline, Brad Ziegler has found himself playing for a team with a lot more on line.

“This is a lot different atmosphere. The moment I walked in, you could just tell by the look in everybody’s eyes, the intensity in the dugout that they want to win and are ready to win,” said Ziegler on Sports 620 KTAR Friday afternoon.

Having pitched for a team in the Oakland Athletics that is usually out of the playoff race at this time every year, Ziegler is enjoying the opportunity to pitch in games that count so much this late in the season.

“This is going to be the first time I’ve pitched in meaningful games in August and September. I’m going to live it up and hopefully this will be my first postseason experience,” said Ziegler.

However, the D-backs new reliever doesn’t feel any added pressure and is just following the example of his confident teammates.

“They’re just going out and playing hard. I think they’ve established in the first four months of the season, if they just go out and play the kind of baseball they know how to play, they’re going to be successful,” said Ziegler.
