It looks like Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Josh Collmenter’s spot in the rotation is safe for now.
#Dbacks RHP Collmenter will open the season in the rotation, manager Gibson says, putting to rest speculation he may open in the pen.

There was speculation that Collmenter could lose his starting spot, as the D-backs pitching staff, once one of the worst in baseball, is now ultra-competitive and chock full of both young players and veterans.
Last season, the 26-year-old went 10-10 with a 3.38 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. He struck out 100 batters in the regular season thanks to his unique tomahawk throwing style.
Collmenter posted a 1.29 ERA in two games during the posteason last year.
