Jules Tompkins wins Arizona Sports’ Big League Dream Job

Apr 3, 2012, 2:53 PM | Updated: 4:34 pm

Sports fans, at one point in their lives have
probably thought to themselves how great it would be to
cover a team over the course of a season.

Arizona Sports 620 has granted this rare opportunity.

Before spring training began, we put out
the
call for hungry and talented writers who were just looking
to catch a break in the world of sports journalism. We
unveiled our Big League Dream Job concept, which quite
simply, would give a chance to someone outside the
established sports media to cover the defending National
League West champion Arizona Diamondbacks during the
course
of the 2012 season for ArizonaSports.com.

And, after receiving over 40 video submissions that
received
a total of well over 100,000 votes, we’re proud to
announce
that Jules Tompkins has landed his Big League Dream Job.

Tompkins is a 23-year-old freelance copywriter from
Phoenix
who has dipped his foot into the pool of baseball writing
for the last two seasons, but was looking for a chance to
break in to baseball writing on a more regular and serious
basis. Now, Tompkins’ writing will be seen by millions on
ArizonaSports.com over the course of the campaign.

Welcome Jules! And we look forward to your Diamondbacks
coverage here on ArizonaSports.com.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to submit an audition
video.
