Arizona State didn’t play a good first half of football at USC, and it got a lot worse just before halftime when the Sun Devils’ starting quarterback went down with an injury.

Manny Wilkins got sacked with 2:24 left in the second quarter and immediately reached for his lower left leg. Trainers came onto the field shortly after and tended to Wilkins for a couple of minutes before helping him walk off the field.

Wilkins needed two people to help him walk into the locker room after that.

ASU’s backup quarterback Brady White came into the game with 20 seconds left in the first half and simply handed the ball off.

Wilkins came back to the ASU sideline to begin the second half on crutches with a walking boot on his left foot. He did not return to the game.

Before Wilkins’ injury, he completed 13 of his 24 passes for 148 yards and an interception, while he was credited with losing nine yards on seven carries. The Sun Devils entered the locker room at halftime after Wilkins’ injury down 27-6 to the Trojans.

Head coach Todd Graham said after the game he didn’t anything yet about the severity of Wilkins’ injury.
