Senior Torian Graham scored a team-best 24 points and hit a go-ahead three with 21 seconds left to help the Arizona State Sun Devils earn a 75-69 win over the Stanford Cardinal.
Graham had a season-high 30 when ASU beat Stanford on Dec. 30, and led the Devils with 24 points on Saturday. After shooting 1-14 on Wednesday against Cal, Graham shot an efficient 8-of-15 from the floor. He hit a three with 1:16 left to bring ASU within one, then another to give his team the edge.
Arizona State came out ahead 19-11 early, but ceded a 10-0 run to Stanford midway through the first half. The Cardinal led for 28 of the 40 minutes and had 16 more shot attempts than ASU, but committed 21 turnovers, giving 23 points to Arizona State. The Cardinal also had 22 team fouls, and ASU shot 17-of-22 from the charity stripe.
Marcus Allen led Stanford with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists on 8-of-12 shooting. Robert Cartwright hit his only shot of the game with 51 seconds left to give Stanford a three-point lead, but the Cardinal fouled Kodi Justice and gave up two free throws.
The Sun Devils were outrebounded 49-27, but shot 12-of-32 from three-point range while the Cardinal shot 3-of-19 from that distance. ASU hit 10 or more threes for the 13th time this season.
ASU (12-14, 5-8 in Pac-12), will head to Seattle to play Washington on Thursday. Stanford (12-13, 4-9 in Pac-12) hosts Cal on Friday.
