Arizona State and San Diego will play a charity exhibition game on Wednesday, Nov. 1, that will benefit Hurricane Maria victims in Puerto Rico.

The game will tip at 7 p.m. at San Diego’s Jenny Craig Pavilion.

The NCAA granted the two schools a waiver that will allow them to play an extra exhibition game.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for children and USD students, and all of the money will be donated to Catholic Charities, USA.

“We are committed to helping the people of Puerto Rico at this very difficult time,” said USD coach Lamont Smith, who served as an ASU assistant under head coach Herb Sendek from 2008-12. “Having Puerto Rican native Jose Martinez on our team gives our university a heartfelt connection to our fellow citizens in Puerto Rico.”

The Sun Devils have won both meetings between the Toreros — 89-70 in 2004-04 and 59-56 in 1991-92.

In addition to the waiver-granted third exhibition game, ASU will host Northern State on Thursday night at 6 p.m. and Arizona Christian on Friday, Nov. 3.
