In the final moments of Arizona State’s win over Pacific Friday, one of Arizona’s top basketball prospects announced his commitment to the program.

Jaelen House announced his commitment to ASU in a post on Twitter. According to 247 Sports, House is a 4-star prospect in the class of 2019.

The future Sun Devil’s commitment may not come as a surprise to many, as he follows in the footsteps of his father and former Sun Devil great, Eddie House.

The younger House is currently in his junior season at Phoenix Shadow Mountain High School, in which the Matadors currently are the two-time defending Division III Arizona state champions.

Led by head coach and former NBA point guard, Mike Bibby, House has made an impact on the Shadow Mountain varsity roster since enrolling as a freshman in 2015.

House averaged 9.9 points per game in his first season as the Matadors captured their first of two consecutive state titles. As a sophomore, he averaged 22.3 points per game as Shadow Mountain finished 27-1, repeating as state champions a 27-1 overall record.

Just 12 games into this season, House is averaging 19.6 points per game as well as 5.8 assists and 6.7 steals.

The elder House played for Arizona State from 1996-2000, finishing as the all-time leading scorer with 2,044 points.

House was drafted 37th overall by the Miami Heat in the 2000 NBA Draft. In his 12-year career, House played for nine different teams, including the Phoenix Suns during the 2005-06 season when they reached the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
