Arizona State coach Todd Graham has wasted little time filling vacancies in his coaching staff caused by offensive coordinator Mike Norvell’s move to coach the Memphis Tigers.

After Memphis announced it had hired former ASU assistants Chip Long and Chris Ball to join former ASU offensive coordinator Mike Norvell’s staff on Monday, the Sun Devils have reportedly agreed to look internally while filling Long’s old job of tight ends coach.

Former running backs coach Josh Martin will move to tight ends coach, according to Sports Illustrated’s Thayer Evans, though it is unclear what other duties will be attached to his promotion.

Along with his focus on tight ends, Long was also a special teams offensive assistant and a recruiting coordinator.

Replacing Martin at running backs coach will reportedly be Middle Tennessee wide receivers coach Kodi Burns. A former Auburn player, Burns was a graduate assistant for the Tigers under Gus Malzahn and during the 2013 season worked alongside newly-hired ASU offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, who that year was an offensive analyst at Auburn.

Martin has been quick to rise up ASU’s coaching staff ranks. The former graduate assistant was promoted to running backs coach before the 2015 season after Graham’s son, running backs coach Bo Graham, resigned.
