The Arizona State Sun Devils have surprised many with their 5-1 start, and now the team is ranked in the Top 25 of the Coaches Poll.

ASU jumped from 36 to 24 after their 23-20 win over UCLA, the biggest mover in the poll. They were not ranked in the AP Poll.

The Sun Devils are one of three teams in the Pac-12 ranked in the top 25 of the Coaches Poll, joining No. 5 Washington and No. 21 Utah. ASU has both teams on their schedule back-to-back, facing off against the Utes in Tempe on Thursday, Nov. 10, and then traveling to Seattle on Nov. 19 for a showdown with the Huskies.

Despite a start that some would call improbable, Graham’s message to his team is consistent.

“Discipline beats talent every day of the week. Smart beats careless every day of the week,” Graham told his team in the locker room after the game.

“All is that matters is when that gun went off, we’re winners.”

Arizona State is preparing for Colorado Saturday, but the current starting quarterback for the Sun Devils is unknown after backup quarterback Brady White exited the UCLA game with a right foot injury and starter Manny Wilkins is still recovering from a left foot injury. Third-string QB Dillon-Sterling Cole closed out the game.
