The Phoenix Suns earned a 120-103 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats Thursday night.
It was a balanced performance from the Suns, who had six players score in double figures, with Marquese Chriss’ 17 points leading the way.
But while for the most part things went well for the home team on this night, one sequence did not.
With time ticking down in the fourth quarter and the Suns leading 110-97, guard Leandro Barbosa raced to the corner to corral a loose ball before quickly turning and firing a pass to Jared Dudley, who stepped into a three-point attempt.
Barbosa, confident in his teammate’s ability to knock down such thoughts, immediately turned to the stands and raised his arms in triumph.
Except Dudley, who is shooting 42 percent on threes this season, misfired on this attempt, and it wasn’t even close.
Oh well.
The important thing is while this was a funny moment and may have caused Barbosa to lose a little faith in his teammate, the Suns won the game. So, we can all laugh about this.
Ha. Ha. Ha.
