The Arizona Cardinals have lost another player to free agency.

The four-time Pro Bowler had expressed interest in returning to the Cardinals, but many assumed he was destined to leave, with many predicting a reunion with former Arizona defensive coordinator Todd Bowles in New York.

Cromartie played for the Jets from 2010 to 2013. He shared the defensive backfield with Darrelle Revis, whom the team signed earlier in the week.

Cromartie, 30, started all 16 games in his first season in Arizona, compiling 46 tackles, three interceptions and 12 passes defensed, all of which helped him earn a Pro Bowl nod. The 6-foot-2 defender also recovered one fumble last season, which he returned 14 yards for a touchdown.

The Florida State product will be entering his 10th NFL season. He spent the first eight years of his career between the Jets and San Diego Chargers.
