The Arizona Cardinals will take a look at many prospects ahead of next month’s NFL Draft, and at least one of them is in their own backyard.

University of Arizona defensive back/linebacker Paul Magloire, who led the Wildcats with 81 tackles in 2016, will have a chance to show what he can do for the Cardinals on Thursday.

Along with 81 tackles — 51 of which were solo — Magloire notched 2.5 sacks, 5.5 tackles for loss in 2016. The previous season he posted 72 total tackles — 54 solo — along with four tackles for loss.

Yet, even though he was productive and a bright spot in what was otherwise a poor defense, Magloire was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.

The 6-foot-1, 227-pound Magloire joined Arizona following a stint at Arizona Western. A safety to begin his career, he transitioned to a more linebacker-esque role as a senior.

According to his NFL.com Draft Profile, Magloire plays hard and has good instincts, but lacks athleticism, size and good speed. While not predicted to be a first-round pick like the Cardinals’ Deone Bucannon, Magloire envisions himself as a similar kind of player and was fairly productive at the collegiate level.

Prior to last season, Bucannon said he appreciates Magloire patterning his game after his unique style.
