Atlanta Braves’ ‘Beat the Freeze’ runner loses to fan

Jun 17, 2017, 7:08 PM

The Atlanta Braves made headlines last weekend with their lightning-fast runner “The Freeze.” Now, that runner has suffered a loss.

The runner has incredible speed and practically humiliated a fan last weekend. The whole thing is part of a game that the Braves play between innings where a random fan is given an enormous head start, and fans watch as The Freeze sprints forward, eventually catching up to the fan and winning.

But on Friday, he never caught up.

The Freeze has a Twitter account, @BeatThaFreeze, and responded via social media after losing at SunTrust Park, the Braves’ brand new stadium.

The man is 26-year-old Nigel Talton, a former track athlete in high school who later ran for Iowa Wesleyan, according to The Washington Post. So, it makes sense that Talton kept winning.

Still, you can’t win them all.
