Arizona Cardinals LB Clark Haggans could be suspended

Sep 25, 2011, 1:19 AM | Updated: 2:19 am

The Arizona Cardinals could be without the services of linebacker Clark Haggans if he is suspended by the NFL for actions that violated the league’s personal conduct policy during the lockout.

But it’s not a sure thing, as no one is really certain as to what Haggans did that landed him in a bit of trouble.

According to ESPN, Haggans is one of eight NFL players that has been identified for possible disciplinary actions by the NFL, but the only one who does not have specific allegations against him.

From what we can tell, the situation kind of sounds like your wife yelling at you for doing something wrong, but you have no idea what you did.

With the Cardinals already struggling on defense, the loss of Haggans would be detrimental. Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton thinks it’s going to take time, but that time doesn’t matter if one of your starting linebackers is suspended and can’t learn the plays. The addition of being backed-up by rookie Sam Acho is also daunting and could punch a big hole in Horton’s schemes.

There is no timetable for the NFL to announce its plan for Haggans.
