Steve Keim discusses David Johnson’s absence in ‘Cardinals Flight Plan’

Jun 20, 2018, 7:17 PM

The last episode of “Cardinals Flight Plan” for the Arizona Cardinals’ offseason didn’t show much regarding star running back David Johnson’s absence, but it was addressed by general manager Steve Keim.

Keim noted the team’s past contract extensions with Chandler Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, Patrick Peterson and Carson Palmer.

“I don’t think there’s any question that David is one of our core players and someone we look forward to having a long-term future with,” he said.

“There’s no doubt in mind that, moving forward, we’ll keep a positive outlook and look forward to rewarding him just like players in the past.”

From there, head coach Steve Wilks took the team through showing gratitude to cafeteria worker Leo Longoria, who was being deployed to National Guard later that night.

Longoria was greeted by Wilks and the entire Cardinals roster.

Defensive coordinator Al Holcomb was mic’d up as he took his team through the three-day mandatory minicamp.

The episode ended with Make-A-Wish’s Tennyson Erickson scoring a touchdown and celebrating with the team.
