Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Yoan Lopez made quite the splash at the MLB Futures Game with his play and his looks.
Lopez, who pitches for the D-backs’ Double-A affiliate, the Jackson Generals, appeared in the game with two outs in the bottom of the fifth.
He was able to strike out the only batter he faced, Ryan Mountcastle of the Orioles’ organization.
But the D-backs prospect really made the headlines when he talked to the guys of of the Cut 4 show on at MLB.com about his fresh haircut.
Lopez, who spoke in Spanish during the interview, but answered questions through a translator, said, “he’s always trying to look good.”

The haircut has many elements including a large amount of some sort of gel or holding element, highlights throughout, shaved sides and a wavy top, and is one of the more interesting spins ever seen on a mohawk.
Lopez said that a teammate of his with the Jackson Generals was the barber who constructed the ‘do.
