Arizona State University punter Michael Sleep-Dalton announced his commitment to the University of Iowa on Friday.

Sun Devil Source reported on Jan. 11 that Sleep-Dalton intended to transfer out of ASU, where he was the starting punter for two seasons.

The Victoria, Australia, native tweeted Friday that he would join the Hawkeyes.

“Proud to be a Hawkeye! 110% committed, and blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing program,” the tweet read.

Sleep-Dalton originally transferred to the Sun Devils out of junior college, playing at City College of San Francisco. He redshirted his sophomore year at ASU, then took over the punting duties for 2017 and 2018. In 2017, he averaged 39 yards per punt with a season-long of 53 yards. In 2018, he averaged 43.8 yards with a season-long of 72 yards.

He punted for more than 5,000 yards over 27 games at ASU.
