Following a 74-65 victory in the First Four round of the NCAA Tournament, Cheatham entered the ASU locker room accepting of the open space in the middle.
He executed a dance move or two, symbolizing the team being alive in the tournament many refer to as “the dance” and the act of “dancing” when a team is in the tourney.
Cheatham said as much after, and with a giant bracket in the room, someone had to make the win legit by planting Arizona State moving forward over the Red Storm. He was the one to do so.
The senior had his 14th double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He also had an assist, block and two steals.
Cheatham and the Sun Devils face off with Buffalo at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Friday in the second round.
