Former Oregon offensive lineman Cody Shear announced via his Twitter on Sunday that he will be transferring to Arizona State.
Thank you UO for all that it taught me on and off the field. More importantly, thank you to my teammates and life long friends that I’ve made. I’m thrilled to accept an offer to finish my career as an Arizona State Sun Devil. Thank you @HermEdwards @Koach_C @KevinMawae Forks Up! pic.twitter.com/GUJPZq383G

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder will be entering his redshirt sophomore season in 2019.
Shear was redshirted in 2017 and did not make any appearances in 2018, but participated with the third-team offensive line in spring practice.
The Oregon native was recruited as both a three-star guard and tackle out of high school, ranking as the No. 47 guard and No. 81 tackle in the country by 247Sports and Rivals, respectively.
He was ranked as the No. 9 overall player in the state of Oregon by both as well.
Shear received offers from four Pac-12 schools in Oregon, Arizona, Oregon State and Washington State, switching his commitment from Arizona to Oregon on National Signing Day.
