Officials in Las Vegas have boosted the cost of a 65,000-seat stadium being built for the NFL's relocated Raiders and UNLV football to $1.9 billion. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the Las Vegas Stadium Authority board on Thursday, July 18, 2019, approved $40 million in additions. They include 20 more suites and a field-level club area to be paid for by personal seat license and club seat sales not part of the original budget. (AP Photo/John Locher)

The Pac-12 conference announced Wednesday that Las Vegas will be the host of the conference’s 2020 and 2021 championship games.

With the Oakland Raiders scheduled to move to Vegas prior to the 2020-21 NFL season, their new home, Las Vegas Stadium, will be the venue for the two conference championships. The stadium will also serve as the home of UNLV football.

The conference’s current partnership has seen the championship game held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home of the San Francisco 49ers.

The previous four Pac-12 Championship games have been played there.

The stadium is projected to hold 65,000 fans for football while being expandable to 72,000. It is already scheduled to host the 2020 Las Vegas Bowl, which features a Pac-12 team pitted against a Big Ten or SEC team.

The host for championship games beyond 2021 has yet to be announced.
