Phil Mickelson narrowly made his tee time Sunday at the BMW Championship.
The hotel where he was staying in Medinah, Ill., was struck by lightning and caught on fire. Hotel guests, including Mickelson, were forced to evacuate.
How’s this for crazy? My hotel was struck by lighting, I was on top floor,we were evacuated and the place is on fire(only thing of mine on fire this week.) I can’t get back into my room and may miss my tee time because I am without clubs and clothes.

According to his Twitter account, local EMTs helped him grab his gear after he’d been locked out for about 90 minutes.
ESPN reported Mickelson arrived at the Medinah Country Club just 40 minutes before his scheduled tee time. He had enough time to swing a weighted club in the parking lot and take a few practice shots on the putting green before starting his round.
Mickelson shot a 71 on the final round. He finished the BMW Championship five under and tied for 48th.
In order to make the tournament, Mickelson needed a solo 6th place finish.
Justin Thomas won the BMW Championships Sunday. He finished 25 under for the tournament and shot 68 on the final day. He took home $1.6 million in earnings.
