The Arizona Cardinals made a flurry of roster moves on Sunday.
The team announced it placed rookie wide receiver Hakeem Butler and safety Josh Shaw on injured reserved.
Butler was placed on injured reserve with a hand injury. Players must be on the team’s 53-man roster during Week One to be eligible to return from the IR later in the season, so Butler is done for the season.
Shaw was placed on the list for a shoulder injury.
The team also announced they have released linebackers Andre Branch, Hayes Pullard and Jeff Holland.
Branch signed with the team in June following his release from the Miami Dolphins in March.
Pullard signed with the team three weeks ago ahead of training camp. He tallied three combined tackles in three preseason games for the Cardinals.
Holland was claimed off waivers two weeks ago from Denver. In his two appearances for the Cardinals, he had three tackles as well.
As of Sunday, the Cardinals have 85 players listed on the roster. They’ll have to trim it to 53 by Saturday afternoon.
