Arizona Cardinals receiver Christian Kirk appeared to sprain his ankle in the closing seconds, and rookie defensive end Zach Allen did not return to Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks because of a shoulder injury.
Allen left the field at the end of the first half and headed to the locker room with a trainer.
In the final seconds of the second half, Kirk injured his ankle on a first down reception.
There was less than one minute left in the game and the Cardinals were down by three scores when his ankle was rolled up on by Seahawks cornerback Jamar Taylor.
Kirk’s ankle seemed to get stuck behind the defensive back as his body twisted the other way, and head coach Kliff Kingsbury did not have a status update on him afterward.
On Monday, Kingsbury told the media he would have an update on Allen and Kirk on Wednesday.
Allen started behind defensive end Jonathan Bullard, who was active for the first time this season.
Allen played six snaps in the first half– three on defense and three on special teams.
This season, Allen has had eight total tackles.
Allen wasn’t the only injury the Cardinals suffered Sunday.
In the fourth quarter, the Cardinals announced that linebacker Dennis Gardeck was questionable to return with an ankle injury.
