Seattle grad transfer Terrell Brown commits to Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats landed a top-10 transfer on Monday, as former Seattle guard Terrell Brown committed to head coach Sean Miller’s program.
Eligible immediately as a grad transfer, the 6-foot-1 guard could challenge for a starting role with Arizona’s 2019-20 perimeter trio of Nico Mannion, Josh Green and Dylan Smith all leaving for the pro ranks.
An All-WAC First Team pick this season, Brown averaged 20.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 36 minutes per game. He scored 30 or more in four outings.
His shooting percentages dropped off in a larger role: Brown shot 41% overall and 29% from three-point range this year but as a sophomore hit 45% from the floor and 32% from three.

He joins fellow transfers James Akinjo (Georgetown) and Jordan Brown (Nevada) in Arizona’s 2020 recruiting class. The Wildcats will also welcome freshmen wings Dalen Terry and Bennedict Mathurin into the fold.
Arizona has more work to do on the recruiting front while looking ahead to next season after losing Mannion, Green plus big men Zeke Nnaji and Stone Gettings.
Junior reserve forward Ira Lee, freshman center Christian Koloko and backup junior guard Jemarl Baker are three returnees. The Wildcats could also have point guard Brandon Williams back, though the knee issues that took him out of the canceled 2019-20 season make him a wild card in how the roster fills out for 2020-21.
