With the 2020 NFL Draft upon us, the rumors and speculation surrounding players and teams have only heightened.

While the Arizona Cardinals have been rumored to be shopping the No. 8 in the draft, there’s talk the team could reportedly be in the market to unload former 2017 first-rounder Haason Reddick.

On The GM Shuffle Podcast, Michael Lombardi not only mentioned the move, but said the Cardinals would have no issue pulling the trigger if it came to fruition.

“Haason Reddick’s another guy for the Cardinals that they would gladly move on from,” Lombardi said Wednesday. “He’s been disappointing for them and I think they would like to make a move because they know they need to improve their defense.

“He was on their defense last year and it was really not very good. He doesn’t fit for what they do. I think there’s going to be a lot of activity [across the NFL].

It’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride of a career for Reddick, and for that reason it’s hard to see Arizona acquired much in exchange if any team wanted to give Reddick a fresh start.

After starting just three of the 16 games played his rookie season, Reddick bumped up to 12 starts in 2018, recording career highs in tackles (80), tackles for loss (8.0) and sacks (4.0). He also added six QB hits and five pass deflections.

Then came 2019.

After a promising sophomore season, Reddick regressed last year, recording just one sack and accounting for 76 tackles playing mostly inside linebacker. He started five games for the Cardinals, eventually being supplanted by Joe Walker for the remainder of the season and making a move to outside linebacker.

Walker, now with the San Francisco 49ers, played all 16 games and had 11 starts for the Cardinals last season. He had 65 total tackles with one quarterback hit and a forced fumble.
