Phoenix Rising FC announced in a press release Monday that the club will be hosting New Mexico United on Aug. 8 at Casino Arizona Field at 7:30 p.m.
The match was originally slated to commence at University of New Mexico Soccer Complex in Albuquerque, but was changed due to the fluidity of COVID-19 restrictions across the country.
On July 7, New Mexico Gov. Michelle Grisham issued an executive order requiring that anyone who crosses into the state’s borders must quarantine for a minimum of 14 days.
Additionally, Phoenix Rising announced that fans will not be permitted to attend any homes matches in the month of August due to guidelines from local officials and for the safety of the community.
“The club will continue to monitor the COVID-19 restrictions set in place by local officials,” the team said in the release.
“Phoenix Rising hopes to host fans at Casino Arizona Field this season, once it is deemed safe to do so by local health officials.”
PFRC’s next match is on Aug. 1 against El Paso Locomotive FC at Casino Arizona Field.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and can be heard on ESPN 620 AM, ArizonaSports.com and the new Arizona Sports app.
