Phoenix Suns forward Mikal Bridges woke up Tuesday morning likely with a few more notifications on his phone than usual.

Well after his Suns moved to 6-0 in the bubble with a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder — and well into the night over in Florida — his name had trended in the United States.

So when Bridges checked Twitter on Tuesday morning, he fired off this message.

The replies explained what had happened overnight.

On Monday, Bridges had dropped a nice 18 points against the Thunder, a high in the bubble so far. He had a fine game for sure.

Was that the reason why Mikal Bridges was trending starting around 11 p.m. Phoenix time Monday? Not really.

And you wouldn’t believe the reason why.

Why was he trending? That’s why.

Next up for Bridges and the Suns: A game against a watered-down Philadelphia 76ers team that selected the Philadelphia-born Bridges 10th overall in 2018 and dealt him to Phoenix on draft night.
