The Arizona Cardinals on Monday activated receiver KeeSean Johnson from the COVID-19 reserve list after a 10-day stint and placed tight end Maxx Williams on the injured reserve with an ankle issue.

They also signed tight end Justin Johnson to the practice squad and moved running back and special teamer D.J. Foster to the practice squad IR. Foster injured his quad on Sunday in a 30-15 win over the Washington Football Team.

The team does not report whether KeeSean Johnson tested positive for coronavirus or whether he was in quarantine after being in close contact with a person who was infected. If a player falls into either category, a team is required to place him on the list.

The rules for a return date depend on whether the player tested positive or was potentially exposed. If they test positive, a timeline for a return then depends on whether they are symptomatic or not.

Johnson started off fast as a rookie last season, earning 50% or more of the offensive snaps in five games. He hit somewhat of a wall and without special teams duties tallied inactive stints in the last six games of the year. He finished with 21 catches for 187 yards.

Williams has been battling an ankle injury since training camp, though he played Week 1 in a win over the San Francisco 49ers.

The injured reserve requires that Williams misses a minimum of the next three games.

Justin Johnson, who is 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, was an undrafted rookie with Seattle last year. The Mississippi State product spent 2019 on injured reserve with an Achilles issue.
