The Arizona Diamondbacks will once again recognize the state’s best teachers during the final week of the regular season.

The team announced on Monday that they will host D-backs Give Back to Education Week, with different education-themed events through Friday night.

The partnership between the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation and University of Phoenix has given $70 million to various community causes since it launched.

This year’s events include donating 150 teacher supply kids for Teach for America via a drive-through location.

The Diamondbacks will also recognize an outstanding teacher, via their ‘D-backs Most Valuable Teacher of the Year’ campaign.

This year’s recipient is Summer Palacios of Madrid Neighborhood School.

Palacios received a personalized D-backs jersey and a $5,000 grant.

She’s the fifth recipient of the award and was picked out of a field that consisted of the 50 monthly winners through the team’s season.

Other events included in this year’s celebration include a commemoration of past winners of the annual ‘D-backs Give Back $100,000 School Challenge’ grant, which was founded in 2012.

Thursday’s main event is the Pilgrim Rest Technology Donation, where the team will donate 50 Chrome Book laptops to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

The grand finale of this year’s event is with the Be Kind People Project, in which the team and Be Kind People Project, will present a Facebook Live show at 11 a.m. on Sept. 27 for teachers and students.

For more information on the week’s events, go to the D-backs Give Back Facebook page.
