The rich get richer.

The Seattle Seahawks have added defensive end Carlos Dunlap to their ranks through a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter reports the Seahawks are sending offensive lineman B.J. Finney and a seventh-round pick to the Bengals in exchange for Dunlap.

Dunlap leaves the Bengals after spending his entire 11-year career in Cincinnati. The defensive end made consecutive Pro Bowls in 2015-16.

Over those two seasons, Dunlap amassed 104 tackles, 23 for losses, 21.5 sacks, 16 pass deflections and five forced fumbles. He also racked up 57 QB hits in 32 starts.

Dunlap has recorded at least 7.5 sacks in all but two full seasons in his career. His highest sack total came in 2016, when he recorded 13.5.

It hasn’t been the same type of production for the DE this season, however. In seven games (four starts), Dunlap has just one sack, 18 tackles, two pass deflections.

It’s still a big addition to a Seahawks team that has been dreadful defensively this season.

Not only has Seattle given up the most yards per game (479.2) in the league, the Seahawks have been burned the most by opposing quarterbacks, allowing an NFL high of 368.7 yards per game.

The presence of Dunlap should help with a pass rush that has just nine sacks on the season. Only five teams have gotten to the QB less.

Safety Jamal Adams, who has played in just three games due to energy, is tied with defensive end Benson Mayowa with two sacks apiece.

The Seahawks’ weak defense was on full display in the team’s Sunday Night Football overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Second-year quarterback Kyler Murray had a field day against the NFC West foe, throwing for 360 yards and three touchdowns. He also gashed the defense on the ground, adding another 67 yards and a score.

Murray is the only person in NFL history to throw for at least 350 yards and three touchdowns and run for more than 50 yards and a score in a single game.
