The Pac-12 released its media preseason all-conference selections for the upcoming 2020 season on Thursday.

The Arizona State Sun Devils were represented well, boasting two first-team and five second-team selections, while two Arizona Wildcats received honorable mentions.

Headlining ASU is first-teamer and defensive lineman Jermayne Lole. Lole enters his junior season after leading the team in sacks (6.5) in 2019. He also led the line with 71 tackles (fourth on the team) and recorded two pass deflections.

Lole is joined by punter Michael Turk on the first-team roster. As a redshirt sophomore last season, Turk averaged 46.0 yards per punt on 59 attempts. He ranked 11th in the FBS and led the Pac-12 in his first year playing with the Sun Devils.

ASU defensive backs Aashari Crosswell and Jack Jones also made preseason all-conference, receiving second-team selections.

The duo combined for 23 pass deflections, five interceptions and four forced fumbles last season for the Sun Devils.

Offensively, the trio of sophomore quarterback Jayden Daniels, senior wide receiver Frank Darby and sophomore offensive lineman Dohnovan West made the preseason All-Pac-12 second-team cut for ASU.

Daniels threw for 2,943 yards and 17 touchdowns as a true freshman last season. He tossed two interceptions and added another 355 yards and three scores on the ground.

Darby figures to be the main receiving threat for Daniels in his senior season. Last year as the team’s No. 2 option and deep ball threat, Darby hauled in 31 receptions for 616 yards and eight touchdowns.

Earning honorable mentions for ASU were junior linebacker Merlin Robertson, senior DB Chase Lucas and junior kicker Cristian Zendejas.

Robertson was third on the team last year in tackles (74). He also had a sack and an interception. Lucas recorded a pick as well to go along with 53 tackles and four passes defensed. Zendejas converted 23 of his 27 field goal tries (85.5%) and hit 96.7% (29-of-30) of his extra point tries.

Arizona senior DB Lorenzo Burns and junior OL Donovan Laie were also selected as honorable mentions.

Burns tallied 47 tackles, four interceptions and seven passes defensed last year for the Wildcats.
