Arizona State football tight ends coach Adam Breneman was reportedly placed on paid administrative leave Sunday by the university due to the ongoing investigation of the program, according to multiple reports.

The move was reported by The Athletic‘s Doug Haller and SunDevilSource.com.

Breneman is the first known coach to be placed on leave regarding the investigation.

However, there is still an unclear path as to how this will play out, as much of the information has not been unveiled or made public.

ASU has been accused of hosting and paying for the travel and hotel costs of recruits during a dead period of the 2020 season impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recruits could take their own visits to universities from March 2020 through May 2021, but were not allowed to meet with the coaches.

247Sports adds that other names such as Antonio Pierce, Prentice Gil and Chris Hawkins could be involved in the future of the investigation.

Breneman was promoted to tight ends coach this offseason after being a graduate assistant with the team and was even featured on the website’s list of the best coaches under 30 years old.
