Pac-12 Networks Analyst Parker: ASU doesn’t get enough national respect

Winning games can solve a lot of problems, but Pac-12 Networks analyst Glenn Parker said ASU’s winning ways still haven’t gotten them the respect they deserve.

Parker told Doug & Wolf of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM that ASU, along with Utah, are programs not earning enough national respect.

“ASU, who’s had 10-win seasons going crazy and just hasn’t gotten over the hump,” Parker said. “They’re incredible defensively.”

The big question entering 2015, Parker said, is on the offensive end.

“Right now, it’s a little bit of a ‘show me’ on offense because they lost a good tackle, they’re changing their quarterback, their running back is going to wide receiver, they lost one of the better wide receivers in the country,” he said. “Right now, it’s a little bit of a ‘prove me’ on offense, but I don’t think they get nearly enough respect for how good they are.”

Parker said ASU has the talent to win the Pac-12.

“We always talk that USC is probably the best, UCLA is slightly a bit down, and then (ASU, Arizona and Utah),” Parker said. “Take your pick. Any one of them can win the conference.”

ASU has engineered back-to-back 10-win seasons and has won 28 games total in three seasons under head coach Todd Graham.

The Sun Devils open the 2015 season against Texas A&M at NRG Stadium in Houston, Tex. on Sept. 5.
