The rivalry between Kyler Murray and Colt McCoy goes beyond the football field as Murray attended Oklahoma and McCoy went to Texas.
Murray enjoyed his birthday Saturday before the Red and White scrimmage with a surprise from his Texas teammate.
For the occasion, McCoy made a surprise Cameo, an app service that allows fans to pay celebrities to make short clips with a personalized message.
It’s just that McCoy didn’t know he was part of the surprise, either. He didn’t know the video that he filmed was for Murray.
The story behind the Cameos is even funnier than the Cameos.@ColtMcCoy had no idea it was for @K1 😂 https://t.co/bJsw2MpLhm pic.twitter.com/FR9g4gvBWL

“Cam Turner, our quarterbacks coach, set that up,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “He used his … mother-in-law’s credit card and some made-up email so it was untraceable. Colt wouldn’t do it so it was double the fee to get it accelerated.”
McCoy thought he was making a video for a kid named “Buddy.”
“I know you are a quarterback too and love the Longhorns,” McCoy said in the video. “Good luck in training camp, stay humble this season, be great and be a leader.”
The quarterback room seemed to enjoy the video as you hear multiple deep laughs and a visual of McCoy clapping while leaning back in his chair.
“I was sweating I was so embarrassed,” Kingsbury said. “I knew it was coming and he didn’t know, but it was well played.”
