Arizona State tight end and former Oklahoma transfer Jalin Conyers is the No. 26 college football newcomer, according to Tom vanHaaren’s top-50 list for ESPN.
The redshirt freshman didn’t play for the Sooners in 2020 prior to transferring to ASU in January 2021.
Conyers is still waiting for his first collegiate reception, but he was a highly-touted 4-star prospect. As a recruit, he was the No. 5-ranked tight end in the class of 2020 and the No. 208 player, according to 247Sports.
Prior to committing to Oklahoma, he racked up offers from the likes of Ohio State, Georgia, LSU and Oregon amongst others.
The 6-foot-4, 250-pound tight end should serve as a matchup nightmare in the ASU offense and projects to be a good fit in offensive coordinator Zak Hill’s scheme.
The big-framed tight end should be a key addition to the Sun Devils passing game that is highlighted by quarterback Jayden Daniels.
He’s in the mix for snaps at tight end, along with Curtis Hodges.
After redshirting in 2020, Conyers has four years of eligibility remaining.
