Diamondbacks’ Seth Beer exits game due to dislocated shoulder

Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Seth Beer exited Tuesday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after suffering a dislocated left shoulder.

Beer in the bottom of the first inning was diving for a ball hit by the Dodgers’ Trea Turner and jammed his left shoulder. He would come out of the game after the play.

The rookie made his Major League debut on Friday, hitting a pinch-hit solo homer in his first career at-bat. Over the weekend, Beer was 3-for-7 from the plate in two starts with a double, two RBIs and a walk.

The first baseman and outfielder known for his bat is the 12th-ranked prospect in the Diamondbacks’ farm system, according to MLB Pipeline.

Beer, 24, was a first-round pick by the Houston Astros in 2018 and has amassed 16 home runs, 33 doubles and 59 RBIs in 100 games in Triple-A this season.
